Well a friend was to write a detailed post 'n i was supposed to just link to that but alas not sure when she will get time to publish it, so here i am, as another friend was asking to explain more - 'to my surprise i actually liked Hyd' remark.
I ♡ Sharing Autos
- Amazing seriously, wish B'lore had such a system. Plus found the autowallahs to be very amenable, donno if it was just my good luck though? :)
I ♡ Food
- Should i even explain? Was jokingly remarking to a friend's query on the purpose of my Hyd visit, that I've gone there to eat and thats precisely what end up happening! The entire trip was one eating marathon. Look out for the Hyd post on my friend's blog for a detailed account of what all we hogged in 3 days.
I ♡ Cheap Prices
- Of food, of autos, of buses, of everything when compared to B'lore...the cost of living in B'lore is getting seriously insane these days!
Now for the not-so-good stuff.
Defi found the pollution to be much worse. One disadvantage of all those sharing autos, you would be horrified at the condition of few of them. Irrespective of all those broad roads, i still found its traffic no better than B'lore's.
Another thing which struck me while i was traveling via Kasturbha Road on my way to work, was that I didn't see any such tree-lined roads in Hyd. But the way trees along roads are being butchered in B'lore, it won't be long before B'lore resembles Hyd. Already B'lore has some 1/4th of tree-lined roads it once had before.
Now coming to the all important factor - 'Weather'. It wasn't that bad, slightly hot but not unbearable. And I'm sure if I'd gone during the typical Hyd weather, I would've not liked the place at all. So thank the Weather God. :)
Pls: Got to experience sleeper class, one more ticked in my checklist.
Best Seat - Side Lower Sleeper. Hardly slept for couple of hours, rest spent gazing at the sky, the stars, the horizon, the rolling fields, the passing stations, the sleeping towns, vehicles on paralleling roads...
